Provisional?

Can we give them "Provisional" status and not count their votes after we verify who they say they are? There is no great hurry is there?

I think people getting involved in Unity08 are smart enough to figure out that you can't make a dead horse run (no matter how many committees we form). If it looks dead, acts dead and says it is dead, it is probably dead. Riders will quit whipping the horse once they are sure it is dead.

Philosophy of Liberty

This is going to be rather long winded. Just a warning.

The philosophy of Liberty is based on the principle of Self-Ownership. Self-Ownership: You Own Your Life.
To deny this is to imply that another person has a higher claim on your life than you do. No other person, or group of persons, owns your life. Nor do you own the lives of others.
You exist in time: past, present, and future. This is manifest in life, liberty, and the product of your life and liberty. To lose your life is to lose your future, to lose your liberty is to lose your present and to lose the product of your Life and Liberty is to lose that portion of your Past that produced it.

My Dream Ticket

Hello All,

I have been away for a while.

Does anyone know if Unity08 ever posted a compilation of "My Dream Tickets"? I would have been interesting, to see the break down by number of each "Dream Ticket" combination.

In addition, a break down of the top 10 names listed top five names for President and the top five names for VP.

Did I miss it?

If not am I alone on being curious?

Chuck Hagel on 'Face the Nation'

posted by U08Moderator1 on May 14, 2024 - 9:17am

Let me start with the obligatory -- but nonetheless important -- disclaimer: The Unity08 ticket will be selected by Unity08’s delegates in next June’s first-ever on-line convention. The founders of this movement are not endorsing or advocating for any particular potential candidates.

That said, when news like this comes along, it’s definitely worth sharing. On Sunday’s “Face the Nation,” Chuck Hagel, a Republican Senator from Nebraska, spoke openly about being “hijacked” by its extreme elements and pointedly stated that a third party choice for President in 2024 would be good for the country.

This doesn't fit into any of the forums, and yet, it fits into most of them. This will obviously need to be modified for the time frame that it is implemented.

To bring our troops back from Iraq and keep them out of other terrorist nations, All cars that are made after this year, shall get 100 miles per gallon (not the average for a type of car but the minimum), and in three to five years, they shall get 300 miles per gallon. This law should be required for ALL cars sold in the United States that are made after this year. The poor gas mileage in cars is because of the advancement in lighter, smaller, computerized, aerodynamic cars that can now be used to spy on us, and this is what we get for bad gas mileage?!! The manufacturers say that they have great gas mileage. Maybe for the year 1907. Why didn't gas mileage go up in the past 30 years if all of this technology is working for us. You can't tell me that the automakers aren't in bed with the petroleum companies, and the terrorist nations control the petroleum imports to the United States.

it took our first and only successful third political party, the early Republican Party more than 6 years to be successful.

What do you think wiil be the stimulus for the public to want to give up their belief in the present 2 major political parties we have in place. The Democrats are at the time on paper the true people's party, but they are so corporate swayed, and they should be called the pandering party, it is sick. And the modern Republican Party is far from the freedom based limited issues, small ma and pa peolpe's party of the 1850's. Will it be one more lousy presidential election and 4 more years of nonsense, another sad term od incompetance and people that can't learn on the job? Are the American People even ready for a genuine Lincoln-type candidate, who seeks the truth and has politcal savy, gravitas and personality the way he did? Why don't we map out a 6 year plan. I am working on one.

Encourage Mike Bloomberg

I believe that Mike Bloomberg (Mayor of New York City) would make an outstanding candidate on the Unity08 ticket. He just re-opened his campaign website at

http://www.mikebloomberg.com

Check it out. This man is an leader who has helped to accomplish much for my city. He can do the same for our country. I encourage people who even remotely like Mike to encourage him to run on the Unity08 ticket. Send your comments to:

Giuliani

My other thread on Giuliani just disappeared. I hope it's not because the Moderators want us to vote for him.

Giuliani was supposed to speak at a farm in Iowa, but he cancelled the speech because the farmers were not multimillionaires. It was cancelled after the family had done all the preparations for it. He wanted to talk about the inheritance tax, which unfortunately for him affects imaginary people in Iowa instead of real people.
