The statistics are staggering regarding the number of Americans now imprisoned. Would Unity08 classify this problem as a critical issue or an important issue?
I'm not a Founder, but I think your question is to the general group since Founders have already stated the "Crucial" issues as they address the well being of the nation as a whole.

Important because, in general, we have over reacted to imprison non violate "rule breakers" and created great disparity between the "have" and "have nots" in the execution of "due process".
Making a focused moderate issue would be extremely difficult, so I think it would have to be approached indirectly. Say, by advocating the removal of felony classification from activity where no property or bodily harm has occured. If for no other reason, just to releive the tax burden and have those "rule breakers" finance their own punitive assessments and cost at a misdemeanor level.
