Could you unlock the old topics please?

Over a month ago I started a topic trying to figure out what Unity08 meant. Back then it was in the Immigration Issues area because there wasn't any place for meta-discussion about Unity08 and so on. It's now in a new place. Back then lots of people (I know at least me) were under the mistaken impression that there was a Unity *Party*.

Lots has happened since that post. (Including finding out that there's no Party yet.)

And when I went back to look at it I saw people saying "Are you on crack? Don't you know X, Y, and Z?" and I wanted to explain, "Yeah, I was the one who figured that out a month ago and started spreading the news, in part on the basis of the conversation whose remnants you're posting to"... but the thread is locked now so if someone is reading only that thread I end up looking foolish with no way to clarify things.

In other forums I've seen, posting to threads that have died down is called "necroposting" or "topping" (because it brings the conversation to the "top" when convos are sorted by most recent post last). I like the ability to do that for precisely these kinds of reasons: so that old issues can be settled and later notes can clarify the evolution of thoughts on a subject.

Could the old topics be unlocked please?

I've been trying to cross pollinate between various forums to get some kind of netroots awareness of Unity08.

Aside from the Unity Supporters Forum I've also been working to increase awareness over at Campaigns Wikia.

Would you guys mind setting the site's preferences so that forums simply never lock down to prevent comments from being posted? Campaigns Wikia has a huge page on health care and I wanted to cross link it to this unity08 thread and this other one too. But I can't post in those threads so that Unity people interested in health care (who think navigating that deep is worth doing) can find out about other places on the net where people are into Health Care Reform and "the net" but don't know about the Unity Movement yet.

It's not so much the opening of these particular threads as the opening of *all* threads so that such organizing and cross linking on any and all topics is easy rather than something that takes personal intervention over and over and over.

I just wanted to say that the thread was unlocked and I got a personal email from the Unity08 people letting me know that it had been fixed. I appreciate the responsiveness and think that we're lucky to have such motivated and professional people behind the largest organization supporting the Unity Movement.

Yay for them and yay for us! :-)
