  • America has talked of energy independence for decades, but made little progress. Whether it is the reason for war in the Middle East or merely one factor, our dependence on foreign oil undeniably weakens our diplomatic hand around the globe. Is there a magic bullet, or is the answer in a combination of solar, ethanol, wind, nuclear and other substitute fuels – as well as drilling where we have been reluctant to do so?

Platts.com, put on by the McGraw Hill Companies, seems to be a fairly large and informative site for information on energies and fuels including oil, electric power, natural gas, coal, nuclear, petrochemicals and metals. Very industrial.
